Hey guys, it's your friendly neighborhood Donnelly dropping back in with the first article in a while. 2018 Rivals250 ATH/DB/LB Kwantel Raines of Aliquippa (Pa.) is emerging as one of the top prospects in the state of Pennsylvania and sits just outside Rivals100 status. He visited Ohio State for the Buckeyes' game against Rutgers and while Ohio State has yet to offer, he says he's been receiving personal attention from Urban Meyer. Pitt and Pat Narduzzi are making him a priority, along with PSU, WVU, and quite a few other programs. Luke Fickell has had his eye on Raines for some time and has done a good job establishing a relationship with him if they do choose to offer.
Raines was described to me by a DC from a Power Five program as a recruit that "you have to tell he'll play safety to land him, but that you'll turn into a WILL linebacker within two months of him getting on campus." Should an offer come for Raines from Ohio State, it would place them in the conversation alongside Pitt and PSU pretty much from the jump.
