Went out to see Ann Arbor Pioneer 2017 LB Antjuan Simmons last night, on the eve of his visit to Columbus. He talks about that visit in the video interview below, but first a quick report on his play:
Simmons is not the biggest LB - measured 6-1, 199 at the Rivals Camp last April and still looks about that size, maybe a few pounds heavier - but he plays bigger than that. Kid flies to the football and loves to finish tackles. He popped a couple kids pretty good last night. Don't have his tackle stats, but he had to be close to double digits and he only played one half of football. Kid is always around the football, on the plus-side for speed (definitely) and athleticism for the linebacker position. Knock on him is that he needs to strengthen up at the point of attack, which is not surprising for a 200-pound LB.
