According to the latest New York Times/CBS News nationwide poll, Donald Trump’s lead is widening – he now has 35% of Republican primary voters, while Cruz has 16%, Carson 13%, and Rubio 9%. Yet nearly two-thirds of American voters say they are concerned or frightened about the prospect of a Trump presidency. (On the Democratic side, Clinton leads Sanders by 20 points, which is where that race has been for many weeks.)
Pundits have been predicting Trump’s implosion for months, but with a little over 50 days to go before the primaries and caucuses begin, he could well become the Republican nominee. If it’s Trump v. Clinton, who wins? If it’s Trump v. Sanders, who wins?
