Ohio State coach Tim Hinton was in northeast Ohio today to check in on Russ Yeast, a fast-rising defensive back in the class of 2017 out of Fremont Ross. Contact at school is limited because of NCAA recruiting rules, but the Buckeyes are telling Yeast positive things and want him to get out and camp with them in June, which I expect he'll do.

For some reason, his profile is being a little wonky and not displaying all of his offers, but Russ has picked up scholarships from Maryland (last night) and Louisville in the past couple weeks and also holds offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky, Washington State, and Toledo. He's a dynamic kid with the ball in his hands, but ultimately I think he's best suited to play corner at the next level and that is where most schools have offered him at. Safety is a possibility if he gets bigger.

I didn't get to see as many of his reps at the Cleveland camp as I wanted to, but I've had a few coaches and players who played Fremont Ross this year (I didn't get to see them) reach out and tell me how impressive he was. We'll have to see how his camp performance goes in June, but don't be surprised if they pursue this one.
