The four-star 2023 OL prospect out of Orlando released his top five this afternoon, leaving Ohio State off of a list that includes Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida, Miami and Michigan State. At one point in the late fall/early winter, the Buckeyes were the clear favorite. But from what I was told, Ohio State wanted him to hold off on a decision.
Per one source, the staff didn't love what they had seen from him as a junior and wanted to wait. So, now the offensive tackle will be looking at those other programs with a July 23 decision date coming. Kirkland had recently told me he was still wanting to visit Ohio State before he made that public commitment. Looks much less likely that visit will happen now.
