Bama, Clemson, OU and OSU all win their conferences today and the committee's top 5 look like this tomorrow:
1. Bama
2. Clemson
3. OSU
4. OU
5. ND
Back in 2014, TCU and Baylor were left out because they did not play a conference championship game according to the committee chairman. The 4 teams selected did and won their respective conferences. Now I understand they completely contradicted this standard in 2016/2017 by letting OSU and Bama in without even playing in their conference title games. But they could re-establish the importance of winning your conference title to get selected here this year if these 4 teams all win today and send a strong message to independent teams like ND they should join a damn conference. Unfortunately though, this committee will make their selections based on their bias and which teams will have the best impact on the TV ratings for the CFP so ND is likely a lock.
