I didn’t want to wait for A-Deck to get a couple things out re: notes from the big recruiting weekend. Will definitely go more in-depth on Wednesday with a few other notes, but wanted to share some things sooner versus later.
- The visit with C.J. Stroud went very well on both sides, as this was necessary for both parties to get a better feel for each other. While nothing “public” has been announced as far as an offer goes, I believe this has happened from what I’ve been told and I also have OSU as the leader for Stroud. My FutureCast is in on the Buckeyes but I could definitely see some official visits happening before a decision, including one to Columbus, maybe for the Penn State game in late November.
- Also hearing really positive things about Tyler Baron’s visit. As Marc reported late in the week, Baron is no longer the lock to Tennessee that he once was. I was told that coming into the weekend that Ohio State had the best chance to beat the Vols, with Kentucky right behind them. After talking to some sources this weekend, I think OSU may be the team with the lead at this point in time. Baron was supposed to make a commitment later this month (assumingely to UT), but that now has been pushed back to a TBD date. I’m not at all close to being ready to call this one done and over, but things are trending positively towards Ohio State.
- Not much on Kevontre Bradford right now but still digging. Should have more commentary on Wednesday there.
- Weekend was very positive with all 2021 recruits in attendance. Don’t believe anything is imminent as far as a commitment goes, but I think the firm ground was laid for longer term pushes for a number of prospects. Between the atmosphere, game result, and buzz around this program right now, it was a home run weekend in regards to giving underclassmen a tremendous experience on campus.
