spoke to the Fourth Wiseman who was at practice today and had a chance to speak to the coaches afterwards...

he had a couple of observations worthy of note...

1) said Warriner is beyond pleased with his incoming group of freshman linemen. Said they have all come in with a great work ethic and a high football IQ. The one guy who seems to have made the biggest leap over the summer, however, is Brandon Bowen. According to the Wiseman, Bowen has put himself into "first guy off the bench shape" and is as physically imposing a true freshman offensive lineman as he has seen in many many years. "Bowen is the guy to watch, and the guy who has been the biggest surprise"

2) Said that the key to Marcus Baugh's resurgence and getting on the straight and narrow has been as much about who he has been hanging with, as how he has played. Meyer made sure the Marcus got squared away by moving him in with Eli Apple. James Clark and Gareon Conley. Apple and Clark are two of the smartest players on the team, and are absolute students of the game---so putting Marcus with them was a strategic decision, and its already paying big dividends. Zero problems with Marcus on the field or off the field since then---and they think he has star potential....

more to come as camp progresses.....
