Day 4 Had the first independent salvo from the OSU and Zach side and quite a salvo it was. Lynn Bruce and company delivered a 10 Megaton bombshell. Well done all around.

Yahoo and other 2nd tier non TV/Cable sites picked it up and ran with it. ESPN and Fox ignored and posted stories on the investigation.

My take = OSU is still large and in charge of the media message, but there will be a lot more to come and this saga is far from over.

Since a ton has been posted on Lynn's story I want to start with the ESPN et al position on the investigation = OSU isn't questioning Zach or his ex. This has remained part of the headline banner on ESPN

Two reasons : 1) questioning them isn't relevant the investigation or the narrative and 2) the minute they finish questioning them they lose control of the story... and might not get it back again.

The reason it's irrelevant is that there is nothing to learn. He said, she said. And there is no question in anyone's mind at this point that the marriage was toxic. There were no arrests, and one of the files is sealed. I understand that OSU is reviewing what's open. Likely not much there, but the police records will be useful to the final narrative.

The bigger issue, and why I think they may never interview either of them is that once they are finished, Zach or Courtney can be interviewed (even off the record haha), which is EXACTLY why ESPN is interested and begging for it with the open ended headline article...

Once it's out there the bad media apples can parse the questions and their answers into sound bites that when taken out of context could tarnish the investigation BEFORE OSU is prepared to deliver the message properly!

There is a ton of juicy Days of Our Lives fodder in Lynn's interview with Snook, and it opened multiple new threads in the narrative. None of which were conclusive, but that wasn't the point.

The MOST important thread IMO is that this isn't about Zach and Courtney, and most certainly Courtney is not little miss innocent. It's about an entire extended family who have been trying to help and have been suffering through a toxic marriage for ten years. Most importantly the pictures and comments included THE KIDS. They are the victims.

The assertion that Courtney has an agenda is obvious, but good that Lynn put it in bold for everyone to see it. Now when the "mature" journalists roll all this up that assertion is part of the story.

It also may distract Courtney and her "entourage" to try and defend it, and that will look BAD. Still a couple of days to see if that gift were to materialize.

OSU also got the read that the Major Sports news outlets weren't going to bite on this.

At least not yet. So they can modulate accordingly.

As Day 5 goes to prime time on the East Coast we are still tracking to a positive re-entry window.
