I know this has been discussed in other threads to some degree but I am still shocked that the last 2 years we have only recruited 3 DEs in total (shocking), then factor in 3years ago we took 4 DEs but 2 of those 4 moved to offense and other 2 to DT so if you think about it, that means in the last 3yrs we have only 3 DEs on the current roster who have played DE in last few years.
And yet Brenton Cox doesn't want to play here and possibly Tyreke Smith and Oweh too.
As of this moment in time, we have 3 DEs for playing time in 2018. Shocking ...
With all the guys who are going to the NFL from our DL and all the scouts eyes we get on TV, you would think these guys are shoving people out of the way to get a coveted DE offer and commit on the spot.
Here is the last 4yr of DE commits:
2017: Chase Young
2016: Bosa and Jonathan Cooper
2015: Rashod Berry and Alabi Jashon Cornell and Dremont Jones
2014: Slade (gone), Jalyn Holmes and Sam Hubbard
I think we need to move some LBs to DE or move some parts.
I do realize Urban is too smart to go into 2018 with this depth so I know he has some things cooking whether fans like me realize it or not .. so I really am not concerned too much but I am more shocked some of these guys who have DE offers have not committed.
