Did anyone else notice this in the report, re: The night before Big 10 Media Day?

I'm just absolutely blown away by the fact that the night before media day after Meyer had fired Smith, he received additional media reports about 2009 and 2015. He asked Ryan Stamper to check and confirm that there was no felony in 2015. Stamper couldn't find anything to confirm this.

What just blows my mind is that unless I am reading something wrong, that the majority of the planning for how to answer the inevitable media questions took place by TEXTING! Did Jerry Emig or Gene Smith ever consider a conference call or hell, an early morning meeting (I'm sure they have use of a jet), to completely 100% get on the same page? To me, this is one of the most important shortcomings of the whole darn lead up to the day that has not been discussed. Why didn't the right people get in a room or on the phone, or a video conference?

I was in senior management for years, before starting my own company (thank God to never deal with that bullcrap again,) but there is no way in hell we would have ever prepped for such an important topic via a text chain. Even now in my business, if its important, we get on a call or a video conference.

Text messaging is the absolutely worst way to communicate about important business. Its for checking quickly in or tracking your kids down. Not for something this important.
