If the cost to a business when it hires someone is $10 an hour, but that new employee brings in $12 an hour then the company profits.
If the company is forced to pay that same employee $15 an hour instead, but he still only brings in that same $12 in revenue per hour, the company loses money.
From this, even a Liberal can almost grasp, that raising the minimum wage to $15 will eliminate jobs that benefit the company less than $15 an hour.
(Please note that I wrote this as simple as possible for obvious reasons.)
