I made another post about this elsewhere on the site but I am going to make another one here so there is no confusion.
We as mods do the best that we can when we get info, sort out good info from bad info, analyze it, sort it out and try and lay it out in the best fashion that we can. We are not always right. We don't claim to always be right. We do our best but are human and often times are only as good as our sources.
There seems to be some that think it is funny to talk about times that info does not pan out and we may be wrong on an item or two. We are human and big people and own up to when we are wrong. What we don't need however is to be called out on it every time that it happens, mocked or just goofed on in general. We are here either as full-time or part-time jobs and we take this very seriously. This board is supposed to be a good time for all but when we get a pretty lousy reception, it drives us away, it makes us less likely to want to spend time here and be part of a great community.
In short, it only cheapens the site that you are paying to be a part of.
We like to have a good time here, maybe mix it up a little (good-natured) and then go on with our day. When things get nasty, mean-spirited and just overall ugly... things just start to go south in a hurry.
We get frustrated as much as the next person. We sometimes fire back in kind and that is not always the best reaction but oft times, it is out of accumulated shots that we have taken and is as of last result.
I just am calling for an end to it. Just understand we are here to provide a service but being a focal point of mocking and ridicule if something does not go exactly to plan is not something that any mod signed up for. Just try to be aware of that when you fire off that "Scathing troll-worthy" message to a mod and wonder why things end up not going as plan. We are not here to be trolled. The mainboard is full of trolling, please go over there and get it out of your system. We will be here waiting for you patiently when it is out of your system and you want to talk Buckeyes. We love to talk about the Buckeyes. And traveling. And Bourbon. And many other things. But just keep the slings and arrows out of it. Because we are done with that.
