The rumblings started in the last 24 hours that Michigan might be getting five-star RB Kareem Walker to campus this weekend and with a host of New Jersey players expected to visit, including Depaul Catholic product Quayshon Alexander, those rumors certainly seemed to have some teeth.

After doing some digging, I am told that Walker is in fact expected to make a visit to Michigan this weekend. He plays a game tonight at 8 PM against Bergen Catholic and will then head out to Ann Arbor per a source close to this recruitment.

Hard to measure what exactly this means at this point. We've been saying since he committed that visits were very likely and that this wouldn't be a drama-free recruitment. Yet his relationship with Urban Meyer and Tony Alford is extremely strong at this point and the Buckeyes have a pretty appealing depth chart for Walker next fall with the departure of Zeke Elliott (yes, that's happening don't fool yourselves).

Michigan does provide an interesting element to this recruitment with some New Jersey guys in this class that Kareem is tight with and the depth chart there is also fairly open as well.

My confidence has always been pretty high that Walker would sign with Ohio State and him scheduling a visit doesn't change that for me because I have always anticipated visits being made and factored that into my confidence levels with Kareem.

However, visits do allow for the possibility of things to change so we'll continue to monitor this throughout the weekend and into next week and if I start to hear that things are slipping for the Buckeyes, you guys will be the first to know. Right now my inclination is that this is just Kareem following through on making visits as was expected.
