Four-star running back and major Ohio State priority Favour Akih was back on campus today for practice. It was a great experience according to the Ohio native.
"Their practice today was the best practice I’ve seen so far! Everyone was competing at the highest level today, and the amount of detail in every practice they have is why they are national champs," Akih said.
A lot of running back targets have been commenting on getting the ability to see running backs coach Carlos Locklyn in action. I asked Akih for his thoughts about his coaching style.
"Yeah it was very good," Akih said. "He does a very good job of holding guys accountable. He teaches discipline to a whole new level and really breaks down the running back position. We (running backs) should be as smart as the QB."
Its been pretty widely reported by myself and @Birm that this is a two-team race between Ohio State and Miami. Akih characterized the race right now after his latest trip to Columbus.
"Ohio State and Miami are doing a great job of recruiting me," Akih said. It’s very hard to turn down what Miami is offering. But it would be even better to stay home and be a Buckeye. So it’s a very hard decision! Ohio State might just be a little ahead just because it’s home and I grew up here so all I know is Ohio State."
My FutureCast is still on the Buckeyes here. Akih told me that he wants to make an college choice sometime in May.
