- Ohio State assistant coach Tony Alford was in the Tampa (Fla.) area today and stopped in to check on five-star athlete Nate Craig-Myers at Tampa Catholic. Craig-Myers decommitted from Auburn the other day and right now he tells me that he plans to take a slower approach this time around and possibly take all of his vists. Could be a tough pull away from FSU but Ohio State was a school that Nate was pretty enamored with early in the process so they'll try and rekindle that.

Alford also stopped in to check on tight end Jacob Mathis out of Tampa Berkley Prep. Still likely to be Luke Farrell or bust to finish this class off in terms of tight ends but Mathis is a prospect that the staff has always liked and will keep warm just in case.

- Ohio State defensive end commit Jonathon Cooper was offered by Oklahoma today. Absolutely nothing to worry about here, but the Sooners did inform Cooper's high school coach Bruce Ward that Coop has an offer from Stoops and company. If we ranked OSU's 15 commits from most to least solid, Cooper would be the most solid.

- The Buckeyes put out a new offer today to 2017 Lawrenceville (Ga.) Central Gwinnett offensive tackle Tony Gray, one of the Atlanta area's top rising juniors. Gray comes from the same high school program as Trey Johnson so there is plenty of familiarity there. I was really impressed with Tony at the Atlanta Rivals camp in March. Really athletic for a guy with his frame but surprisingly strong for a kid that still has 30-40 pounds of weight to add.

- Tim Hinton has been all over the place recently both in Ohio and surrounding states. Yesterday he was in West Virginia and southern Ohio. He checked on class of 2018 offensive lineman Blaine Scott from Portsmouth (OH) Sciotoville East (former high school of Buckeye commit Tyler Gerald). Scott landed his first offer this week from Ohio U. and similar to Gerald is a 6-foot-5, 300-pound mauler.

In West Virginia, he was at Charleston (WV) South Charleston High to check on class of 2017 four-star OLB Derrek Pitts. West Virginia actually has a few really good prospects in 2017 so it will be interesting to see if OSU throws its hat in the ring for any of them.

- Finally, just to quickly follow up from last night. 2017 Brooklyn (NY) Poly Prep offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson does now have an offer from Ohio State after Ed Warinner visited his school yesterday.
