What about the current game of football we all love would you like to see changed to make it safer and more entertaining?

1. Eliminate cut blocks! In fact ban any tackling from the mid-thigh and below. How many times have we seen a defender go low on a ball carrier or QB hitting them at or near the knees causing injuries? Most recently the hit on Big Ben by the Rams Safety. Or the hit against the South Carolina RB, Lattimore, where one defender hit him high and the 2nd defender hit him right at the knees effectively ending his football career. Absolutely no reason this part of the game couldn't be changed to reduce injuries. Tackling mid-thigh and up should be the rule. Rugby does it very well and they have few knee injuries as a result.

2. Another thing I like about Rugby is no commercial breaks during the game. Football could adopt this easily by only going to commercial breaks after each Quarter and half-time. They could even cut away during an official review of a play on the field. This would speed up the game by eliminating all the commercial timeouts.

3. No more extra point kicks. Get rid of them. You can only go for the 2 point conversion. The extra point kick is the most boring play in the game. Make it more interesting and only allow 2 point conversions.

4. Only 2 punts allowed per half. Yea, this might cause a riot in here but I think it will force coaches to take more risks on offense and could make the game a lot more fun. It could force some of those super conservative coaches that prefer to play field position and defense to take more chances on offense.

5. 3 timeouts per game, vice per half. Why you say? Timeouts often allow coaches and players to call a timeout when they've made a bad play call, too many men on the field...etc. By only have 3 per game, coaches would have to be more strategic about using them. Sometimes they will simply have to eat their mistakes on the field but that will force them to pay closer attention in the future. I think timeouts are used too often like a mulligan.

6. Pass interference penalties should be reviewable by the official in the box. He should also have veto power should the penalty need to be overturned.

7. The targeting penalty should also be applied to mid-thigh and below tackles. See #1 above.

8. The game clock should continue to run after a team gains a first down. No reason for it to stop.

9. The U.S. should return to 49 states and cut away the entire state of Meatchicken. Let Canada have them.
