Beyond disappointed. I have so many thoughts but I'm going to try to keep it as simple as possible. Two of the big three goals for the season are now off the table. Disgusting.
- This was Chip Kelly's worst showing since his arrival in Columbus. The Ohio State offense did EXACTLY what Michigan wanted for about 90% of the game; they ran it right at Kenneth Grant and Mason Graham. Just inexcusable and yes Ryan Day — THE HEAD COACH — absolutely gets all the blame here too.
- Ohio State should have won by multiple scores. The offensive strategy was the main reason we saw what we saw today.
- Special teams was also awful. Two missed field goals and I really wish Downs would have fielded that punt that ended up going nearly 70 yards. They also started the second half on their own six yard line.
- The run blocking was mostly non-existent. I'm not totally surprised given UM's talent at tackle.
- Will Howard made two absolutely huge mistakes that also helped to give Michigan hope.
- Multiple bad snaps today.
- Though the ground game wasn't there, Judkins and Henderson played with a ton of energy; especially Judkins.
- Pressure led to a bad pass to Emeka on 3rd and 6 in the third quarter. Henderson's pass blocking has been good this season but he really should have helped out on Kenneth Grant on that one.
- Carnell Tate was pretty good but really wish he would have caught that pass when Ohio State had the ball with about 7 min left in the 4th.
- Just a terrible day for Ryan Day, Chip Kelly, and the special teams.
- I have no idea what today means for Ryan Day's future, but the next several weeks are going to be awful.
- I just remembered the 3rd and 8 give-up run and then the 30-yard punt on the next play. Maybe the worst two-play sequence in program history.
- I can't complain too much about the defense. They were good today with a few exceptions and the offense certainly made things tough on them.
- Sonny failed to set the edge on the one long Orji run.
- Great play by Downs + Tyleik on the 4th and 1 stuff.
- Caleb Downs is still elite. He was great today. That pick was awesome.
- Burke had the one interference but I can't say much about the corners. UM has no weapons.
- The fourth-quarter missed tackle on Mullings on 3rd and 6 was awful. Just terrible.
- The Jack Sawyer pick was great
- The defense being misaligned leading to an illegal substitution on that last UM drive......absolutely killer.
