- McCord is clearly the guy. I'm glad we got to see a bit of Brown, but he didn't do it for me today. He's certainly more likely to run, but his athleticism didn't really stand out at all. He had a few bad underthrows as well. I'd be very worried about turnovers against a better opponent.
- Brown did have a very nice third-quarter throw to Carnell Tate where he fit the ball between three guys.
- The designed Brown runs are a bit annoying. Him constantly trying to run is also annoying.
- I believe there was a play when McCord had a ton of protection and he too inexplicably tried to run it. (just went back and checked, it was right before the half)
- Josh Simmons is still a problem. He wasn't bad for the entire game, but he definitely seems to be the biggest weakness on the line. He could have been called for hands to the face on Trey's first touchdown run as well (right after he actually was called for it).
- I admittedly didn't notice much else on the offensive line. Was mostly trying to watch Simmons.
- I didn't love Marv and Emeka still being on the field with six minutes left in the game (though I assume this was more or less to give Devin Brown a level playing field).
- Loved seeing them move Marv around.
- Cade Stover is a weird blocker. He will completely whiff on some plays and then every now and then he'll have a very nice block.
- Ohio State ran for 4.6 per carry against both Indiana and Youngstown State. Don't love that.
- Henderson looked a little better today and I LOVE that they threw it to him a few times.
- The defense was mostly fine outside of letting YSU drive 75 yards for a score on the opening drive. That opening drive certainly was a problem though.
- And "fine" against a program like Youngstown State is far from a ringing endorsement.
- Cam Martinez had decent coverage on that deep third down pass he gave up. But being a step or two behind and giving that up to a YSU receiver isn't ideal.
- I wish Sonny Styles wouldn't come off the field.
- The lack of pressure last week was hard to judge due to Indiana running so much option. I didn't notice a ton of pressure today either, which is concerning.
- Mike Hall is still phenomenal and that late sack was a thing of beauty.
- I have no idea what is going on with JT and Jack. Will have to rewatch and see if they got close at all.
- Maybe he played more than I noticed, but the lack of Kenyatta Jackson is a little strange. Wondering if he can provide a boost to the pass rush.
- Linebackers were good again from what I could tell.
- Denzel Burke seems to be locked in. That's a great thing.
- The officiating was mostly bad.
