Given all that has gone right for Ohio State the past few months, I was wondering -- in your lifetime, have you ever been happier to be a Buckeye fan?
I realize there aren't a ton of wrestling fans -- and even fewer pistol and synchronized swimming fans out there -- but given all that Ohio State has accomplished, I'm not sure there's been a better time since I became a Buckeye fan in the early 1990s to follow Ohio State athletics.
Sure, it would have been nice to see the men's basketball team make a little deeper run in the tournament ... but it's tough to beat what the Buckeyes have done so far in 2015. I realize many out there have been a Buckeye fan longer than me, but the only thing I can think of that would even come close since I started following Ohio State was 1999, when OSU won the Sugar Bowl (and should have won the national title ... freaking Sparty) and went to the Final Four that same year.
But the fact we didn't win the national title in football means it can't live up to this year, as far as I'm concerned.
Obviously winning the title in 2003 (calendar year) was great, but I don't remember the recruiting being as much fun following that natty as it is now.
Throw in the fact I'm a huge OSU wrestling fan and, for me, this can't be beat. These are golden times we are living in, folks.
I'd be curious to hear from those out there who have been Ohio State fans for longer than me ... is this the greatest time to be a Buckeye you've ever experienced?
