Defending NC. Defending B1G champ. Defending B1G East champ. #1 ranked team. THE Ohio State Buckeyes. No matter the crown, the burden to defend a title is infinitely harder than winning it as the underdawg or when no one believes you belong there. The 2015 Buckeyes have to defend all those titles this year and perhaps the pressure of being the lead dawg this year may be weighing down this team a bit more than expected. Or is it just the NC hangover and a sense of entitlement based on all the praise this team received after winning it all? Probably a good mixture of pressure, entitlement, complacency, new OC coaches, switch to a different offense, QB controversy, turnovers, penalties, inconsistent play...etc. We've played 6 games and haven't looked like the #1 team in 5 of them to my count.
This team overcame a lot of adversity last season and with everything stated above along with injuries to key WR's and CB's, I'd say we got our plate full of adversity to overcome this year. I was mocked a bit in here for suggesting we'd have trouble against some of our remaining opponents but I do believe we have no easy games left. This team needs to come to play with their A game every week.
