The best way to put this behind us is to talk actual football. Thank goodness it is finally almost here. It has been terrible not being able to focus on position battles and talk about who is excelling - some of the stuff I REALLY enjoy reading about.
Anyway, I was listening to College Football radio yesterday and they had a Big 12 beat reporter on who picked TCU to win the conference. He said the D will be stout (no surprise) and that he really likes the QB (dual threat guy, again, no surprise). The QB did start one game last year and his passing game left a lot to be desired (something like 6-17 against Texas Tech) but TCU ran all over them, so he didn't have to do much. My first thought was, I hope Schiano is ready to stuff the options/read stuff and that he doesn't get too cute and whiff on a game plan, as he does at times when he over thinks it. Excited to see our young, super athletic LBs go to work. Will be a big game for them.
Moral of the story - we should not be taking TCU lightly (sure the staff won't).
What are some of your early season thoughts/concerns?
