Urban just finished speaking with the media this morning following practice. While full video and stories will be coming shortly, here are a few quick notes as there were some injury announcements.
- Firstly, Baron Browning is out for the rest of spring with a shoulder injury. He had surgery and the time table Meyer said is 2 to 3 months.
- Antonio Williams and Jonathan Cooper are also dealing with a hamstring injury, Meyer said.
- And finally on the injury front, Davon Hamilton had surgery on his foot, which is keeping him sidelined.
- On more positive news, Meyer said Matthew Burrell has been "rolling with the 1s" on the offensive line.
- Just generally on offense, today was the best yet, Meyer said, while also reiterating that the template is 2014, which is something he mentioned earlier this spring. "It is clear what it should look like," Meyer said.
- Meyer was asked about the wide receivers, and he offered an optimistic outlook. He said he has been impressed with Parris Campbell. Campbell is "dynamic," Meyer said, noting that they have moved him inside in more of H-back role. He recalled that Campbell played running back in high school, which gives him a unique background approaching the role.
- KJ Hill has also seen time inside, Meyer said. "Still playing around who is going to play where," Meyer said.
- Meyer also said Terry McLaurin is in the mix for the third receiver spot.
- Additionally, Meyer said Binjimen Victor and Brendon White have been playing well. Victor is as "talented as I've ever coached," Meyer said.
- Eric Glover-Williams "needs to get everything in order" now that he is on offense, Meyer said, but he sounded optimistic that after further practice time EGW could be someone who competes.
- Defensively, Kendall Sheffield has also had his black stripe removed, Meyer said, which isn't surprising that he's the first newcomer to have that removed considering his past experience.
