Man so yesterday was def one of the worst days Ive had..
I bought a Bernese Mtn dog about 10 years ago and had to put her down yesterday.. Her hips were so bad she couldn't stand up anymore and wouldn't eat her food and would just shake when laying down a lot. Don't know how many of you have had to put dogs down but this was my first as I was in the room with her as well as was my other family who had cared for her the last couple years bc they had a huge fenced in yard and was better off there. I live a couple miles from them and spend multiple days at my parents with my daughter and to see my brothers and of course watch football.. Bentley was her name and she would watch the games with us and celebrate with her loud barks and run around with us haha.
She def became part of the family and my parents and brothers are struggling pretty bad as well.. It is such an amazing dog breed and so friendly with everyone but life span is 6 to 9 years in most cases and that's just so short when they are such a good breed and well for any breed really.
Just wanted to vent to you guys as Im sitting at work trying to stay busy and not think about it but just cant do it obviously.
