RJ and Channing Frye have been doing a podcast called Road Trippin. It's been great and a lot of fun to listen to, to the tune of Bron just brought them into his Uninterrupted umbrella to stay a voice of the athletes by the athletes.
That's all meant to say, you should be listening to the pod, but the last 25 minutes of the most recent one give the most raw insight into coming out of the hood to being a pro athlete I've ever seen. The conversation snowballs to a point of openness where RJ talks about his crack head dad, Ky admits he and Bron didn't get along at first because of how different their backgrounds are, Bron talks about Jerome Lane, etc.
It's an incredible look into how rare and hard it is to get out of the hood and how many were lost, as well as a look into what it means to them to have gotten out.
If you don't want to listen to the whole thing, this convo starts slowly building at the 25 min mark in the most recent episode (Part 2 thing). Bron even opens up about how he didn't go to school in 4th grade. It's incredible.
