Got my first speeding ticket since 2005 last Monday. It was a speed trap (mile long stretch between a 55 and a 70 on 33 going out towards Marysville. .. clcoked me at 78 about .2 miles from the 70 sign).

I fully admit I did it and I'm not really trying to get out of the ticket (though if the trooper doesn't show up in not going to complain)... But I am planning to go to court tomorrow to see if I can't get a lesser punishment. Is that a realistic goal? I mean it's my first speeding ticket in just over a decade, is there any kind of warning or something for that? How do I go about doing that if so, just go up and ask the prosecutor or what?

If it matters; last speeding ticket was February 05, I've had several no front license plates since then (had a car that didn't have the hook up, last one was probably in 08. That same year I was arrested on a ridiculous wreckless operation charge... but the prosecutor later dropped that charge And I only received a no front plate. If it would help me I'm not afraid to point out that I've worked two jobs for the last 5.5 years and I was on my way to work with an autistic boy I tutor (All true, but I do feel a bit dirty pulling that out like a trump card or something).
