125: Tomasello (#1) vs unranked Shroeder from Purdue. Nathan dominated the first period, 4-1 with around 2 minutes of riding time. In 2nd, got early escape and take down for 7-1 lead. The started to let-him-up, take-him-down to build points. Got some back points. 13-3 after 2nd. Then Nathan rolled him, then pinned him in the 3rd. Total domination. Nate's got a big match next Friday vs Penn State's #4 ranked N. Megaludis. That should be a great matchup. And, honestly any of the top 4 at 125 could end up winning nationals. They are all very close.

132: Johnny Dijulius (#8) vs unranked L Welch for Purdue. 1st period was one long headlock, literally. 0-0. In the 2nd, Johnny escaped. Then headlocks for another minute... Weird scramble had the Purdue kid with a takedown, then odd events with (what should have been escape for Johnny). Kinda BS. In 3rd, Johnny rode him long enough to erase the riding time, then let him up. But, could not get in on a shot, and lost 3-1.

141: Micah Jordan (#4) vs unranked Sabatello for Purdue. Micah got very quick takedown, then another and back points. Was up 8-2 after 1. In the 2nd, the Purdue kid rode him for a minute, then Micah got out for escape. Micah got a late takedown and was leading 11-2 after 2. In the 3rd, Micah got a late takedown. Match end 14-3 major dec. On a side note, how many wrestlers, in the history of the sport, have been named Sabatello? Jeez.

149: Hunter Steiber did not wrestle (He was there, tho). Our unranked Mike Hozan vs unranked Girffin for Purdue. The Purdue kid dominated. 18-2 tech fall.

157: Our Jake Ryan (#14) did not wrestle. In his place was Justin Kresevic vs D.Welch for Purdue. The Purdue kid got a 3rd period takedown and back points and won 7-1 I think.

165: Bo Jordan (#2) vs Chad Welch (#7). This was the only real great matchup of the meet. Missed first few seconds of match (thanks BTNplus) Bo got early takedown, and turned him for 4 back points, then rode him 2:42 to end first 6-0. Bo got late takedown in 2nd, to finish 8-0 after 2. In the 3rd, Bo got quick reversal, then more back points. Won 13-0. He really dominated for all 7 minutes, vs a top opponent. Bo is a beast!

172: Myles Martin (#15) vs Morrissey for Purdue. Myles got 1st period takedown, led 2-1 after 1. In the 2nd, Myles got quick reversal, then got caught in a roll, and was reversed, with back points (almost got pinned). Myles reversed him again... then let the purdue kid reverse him. The Purdue kid led 9-6 after 2. Some back and forth in the 3rd. The Purdue kid won 11-8. Very surprised, first time I saw Myles wrestle bad, and make freshman mistakes. Ughh. Myles beats a top 6 opponent on Friday, then loses to a kid ranked around #47 today. Doesnt get any easier for Myles, next up #1 Bo Nickal from Penn State.

184: Kenny Courts (#13) vs Lynde of Purdue. Both kids got a takedown and escape in the first, ended 3-3, after 1. In the 2nd, the Purdue kid got an escape and takedown. Finished 6-4 after 2. In the 3rd, Kenny did a great job, got some takedowns, erased the riding time, and won 9-8. Great 3rd period for Kenny!

197: Mark Martin did not wrestle, again. In his place we used one of our back up 184 pounders, Jack Rozeima vs Stein, of Purdue. The Purdue kid won 8-4.

At this point, the match was tied 17-17.

Hwy: Nick Tavenello vs Kral. No action in 1st period, 0-0. In the 2nd, Nick rode him for a while, then the Purdue kid escaped. Nick got takedown. Not much action in 3rd. Nick won 3-1.

Ohio State won match 20-17. Other than Nathan Tomasello, and both Jordans, the rest wrestled lack-luster.

Of note,
Kyle Snyder was in Russia wrestling freestyle. He will wrestle vs Penn State next week.
Hunter Steiber did not wrestle. Not sure why. I hope he did not re-injure an elbow.
Jake Ryan did not wrestle. Not sure why.
