What a win in THE game! I would have been thrilled with a 1-point win, so pulling away for a 29-point victory is something special.
As I reflect on the game, there are two broad areas where our defense seemed to struggle today. Shaun Wade's replacements got picked on a bit. Sevyn Banks and Amir Riep had their struggles, although they certainly hung in there and competed. But the biggest shock to me what how our D-line failed to get a pass rush for most of the game.
Early on, I credited xichigan's game planning and Shea Patterson for getting the ball out quickly. And then there was some TE chipping Chase Young, to slow him down. But by late in the 1st half and into the 2nd half, I was pretty surprised that Chase and friends couldn't get penetration.
Any thoughts on what we were seeing with this today? I think Larry Johnson and Greg Mattison have some good film to break down heading into next weekend as they look to get the rush back on track.
