Wanted to get some opinions on this. I stumbled across the 12 Team Playoff model dates next year and saw that the opening round of the playoffs starts on 12/20/2024. How can we expect coaches to put up with all this mess AND prepare for a Playoff run? The answer is we cannot so that leads to changing the ESD date moving forward. You can't move it up as that impacts the regular season and you also cannot move it back as that does not allow kids to enroll early. What I think should happen (and I am not sure if this has ever been discussed) is you eliminate ESD and go back to only having NSD in February. You then allow kids to sign their LOI until X date. I have no idea when that would be. I think that would be a good change though. You allow kids who want to early enroll to sign their LOI in say May or June so the process can get rolling. If not you are unable to enroll early. I also think it would help with all the bag-dropping and flips. I recognize an easy flaw is to say this effectively creates another ESD but imo it would at least improve upon the current recuring calendar. What do you all think?
