So far:
The average S&P+ rankings of Ohio State opponents is 49th and the three highest ranked opponents faced will be Michigan St (16th), Penn State (9th), and Wisconsin (7th).
The average S&P+ rankings of Oklahoma opponents is 50th and the three highest ranked opponents faced will be TCU (17th), Texas (20th), and Oklahoma State (21st).
The average S&P+ rankings of Alabama opponents is 59th and the three highest ranked opponents faced will be Auburn (8th), Mississippi State (26th), and LSU (6th).
The average S&P+ rankings of Georgia opponents is 60th and the three highest ranked opponents faced will be Auburn (8th), Missouri (14th), and Notre Dame (12th).
The average S&P+ rankings of Clemson opponents is 69th and the three highest ranked opponents will be Texas A&M (30th), Wake Forest (44th), and South Carolina (40th).
Five weeks into the season, Ohio State should have the most room for error if they lose a regular season game and Clemson should have the least room for error if they lose a game. Still a beauty pageant tho and Alabama might have to lose two to miss the CFP. And there's still a lot of season left so these rankings will continue to refine as more data is available. What are you guys' thoughts?
*Some opponents like Wofford, Western Carolina, or Murray State were unranked in S&P+ (from Football Outsiders) and to figure the opponent rankings I attributed 131st ranking to any unranked opponents given that the rankings stop at 130.
