@Kirk Barton I have wondered from sometime now, as to whether or not the non- Ohioan Buckeyes embrace the The Rivalry in the same manner as the Ohio natives. I just remember Ed Cunningham, during a telecast, saying that when he played at Washington (from Virginia), Don James said, "We hate those Washington State Cougars!" He replied with, "uuuuhhhh no we don't coach. This is just another game."
I know that UW vs WSU is not on the same level as The Game, but do the guys from California, anywhere in the south, etc have the same.
Could this have been part of the problem during the Cooper year? We had a coach who called it "just another game" casting a wide net out of state.
