The entire starting lineup for Michigan is used to knowing all the signals, they are used to knowing the protection scheme and routes on a pass play making calling the right defense for the play much easier to defend. They know where to go at the snap of the ball. On running plays they know where the hole is supposed to be they know if it's a run to the right or left.
