Just had a few quick hitters this evening that I wanted to organize into one post.....

Obviously Ohio State had its satellite camp today in South Florida on the campus of Florida Atlantic. Biggest names in attendance were 2016 commit Malik Barrow, 2016 five-star defensive end Nick Bosa, 2017 commit Bruce Judson and 2017 five-star wide receiver Trevon Grimes.

Cris Carter was also on hand to assist the coaching staff and work with the wide receivers, including Judson who got some much needed instruction from CC and Smith as he works on his transition from quarterback to what will likely be slot receiver at the next level.

"It was great, I worked 1-on-1 with coach Smith," Judson told me this evening. "I thought I did good. We were working on opening my hips at the top of the route and we were working on my footwork. I also got to work with Cris Carter."

Judson is still flirting with some other schools right now as he's coming off a visit to Florida. He told me he's also going to visit Auburn and Florida State at some point this summer. He'll be back at Ohio State as well this summer, likely for Friday Night Lights.

Smith, Carter and Urban Meyer also spent plenty of time with Grimes during the camp.

"It was amazing," said Grimes of working with the three coaches. "It was definitely a great experience."

No major changes right now for Trevon. He's working on setting up an Ohio State visit at some point this summer with Friday Night Lights becoming the most likely time. He's still on serious commit watch when he sets foot on campus. As we said last week in Baltimore, Florida State is probably the only other school that really intrigues him at this point (Miami is more of a convenience thing), but Ohio State has a huge lead and this should be wrapped up before the season starts.

Larry Johnson was able to work closely today with both Barrow and Bosa which was great for all parties to get that familiarity down.

Even more so than Grimes, it's just a matter of time with Bosa. That one is over and has been and it's really just a matter of when Nick decides he wants to announce it. I don't know that he'll be up for Friday Night Lights, they may wait until the season to make another visit but the announcement will come before that time. Nick told us recently that he was looking into making his announcement on local TV so that is still a possibility.

In non-satellite camp news, Rivals100 DT Rashard Lawrence announced that he's visiting Ohio State this weekend. Lawrence will fly out tomorrow and stay for a couple of days. This is turning into a monster recruiting weekend for the Buckeyes with Lawrence and Rivals250 safety Jaylon Jones coming up as well as several big name campers including 2017 Rivals100 safety Jeffrey Okudah.

It will be back-to-back-to-back Rivals100 DT visits with Rashan Gary coming in next weekend per Adam Friedman. Mom is supposed to be along for this one, which is important as she is the only other person in this recruitment outside of Rashan that has any real say in the matter. Still not big on OSU's chances here but if you can get him on campus you do it and you swing for the fences and see what happens.
