Couple comments before digging in...
- This assumes Fields, Wade, Davis and Olave opt out. Now I hope that doesn’t happen — and honestly maybe they won’t since it won’t help them get to the NFL any sooner — but I think this is probably the most likely scenario until we get more details on what a season would look like, which other conferences would be participating, etc.
- Added a couple walk-ons who could be put on scholarship given there will be some openings (unless these could be filled by incoming freshmen, not really sure how this will work).
- Assumed all current seniors will still be able to play. Guessing all others could take a RS year for missing Fall —even if they play in the spring — but that doesn’t make a different for purposes of this depth chart anyways. And I didn’t project any seniors to opt out because I don’t think their NFL draft stock will be high enough (one positive is that these guys would have a lot of information to make an informed decision by the time a prospective spring season would take place).
- Lot of hurdles to get through to make this happen, especially if other conferences aren’t playing in the spring, but might as well give us something to think about.
