Not enough for a Skull Session, but here’s what I gathered today.
- Rivals100 RB Gavin Sawchuk and his family are really enjoying their first visit to Ohio State since he was a freshman. His father, Kevin, says it’s “going great so far.” Told me that although they have had a jam-packed schedule, everything they’ve done and all the conversations they’ve had has been “good stuff.”
Kevin told me that they had actually met Alford a couple of times before this trip, and that there is a “great relationship” between the family and him. I’ll be catching up with them when they get home and settled tomorrow.
- I’ve heard through a source that Rivals250 cornerback Ephesians Prysock is also having a great time. I heard that he believes that the trip has been good so far, and he’s “really impressed” with what he has seen.
The conversations between the coaching staff and him and his father is going “really well.” I’ll be speaking with them either tomorrow or Monday, depending on when they land.
- Rivals100 OL Carson Hinzman is undoubtedly having a good time after receiving an offer today. I’ve heard that “everything has been going really well,” and the time with the coaches has “been awesome.”
I do believe Ohio State must have an idea that Hinzman has legitimate interest in the program. If he was a heavy Wisconsin and there was no chance of him committing to the Buckeyes, then I don’t believe he would’ve been offered.
I’m scheduled to speak with him and his dad tomorrow, so stay tuned.
- I know you all were wondering about Landon Samson, who worked out in front of the coaches today, but I haven’t heard from him. I’ve also reached out to a couple of sources in Columbus and Ewers too, but to no avail.
To my knowledge, he has not received an offer from the Buckeyes, at least as of publishing this thread. I’ll post a thread on the board as soon as I hear something.
