First, the defense is playing great. Those guys are flying to the ball and getting there in a bad mood.
I think the play calling could be better. It seems as if the strategy is to get the speed guys to the edge, but I don't think that is where Ohio State's strength is. I think we line up, give Zeke the ball between the tackles and pound the defense. Maybe he doesn't get many yards at first, but over time the offensive line should start to wear down the defense. If they start to stack the box, then it opens up the passing game (assuming that the QBs don't complete passes to the other team). However, the playmakers aren't making plays. The offense is turning to ball over WAY too much, and there are too many times where the ball is fumbled. The offense isn't anywhere near to the smoothly oiled, explosive juggernaut that was expected after returning the players from last year. I do understand that it is only week 3, and last year in week 3 things didn't look very good, either, so I'm hopeful that there will be significant improvement. But right now the offense is a mess.
