We’re at the crossroads of the season, under the lights with new unis and a house full of future recruits. The committee will be watching this one.

After breaking clean from the gate, the Bucks have been meandering around the first half of the regular season. With this much talent the only reason for the production - that seems underwhelming - is the staff managing the team down to prevent them from breaking too fast and peaking before we get into the meat of the schedule.

This game is timed before Rutgers anda bye…. The Time is NOW. It’s not now or never, but another lackadaisical outing might cost the Bucks big time and will certainly raise some doubts that tOSU is trending toward Free Shoes U from 2014.

I see a Positive move but games 2-6 wasted some opportunities to get in full rhythm and that will show itself at times tonight.

Prediction: 49 - 23…. I’m assuming at least one of the PSU scores is a gift. If we play clean we will hold them to 2 scores.

FLOW: I think the Bucks finally come out hot. This is the way Urb has them go when we aren’t in scrimmage mode…. if the Bucks are lethargic to start the game…. Count me as CONCERNED! This will mean they aren’t responding as planned!

When the Bucks Have the Ball:

Last year we had a sort of scrimmage plan as Urb wanted to use the night away game to get ready for Sparty. This season we go full NASCAR on the Nits.

This is a good D but they tried to play us straight last year, and we ran VERY effectively inside but otherwise stalled the O as we pressed intermediate to deep throws against soft coverage and got off schedule. Not this season. We will run it and throw to move the chains. My only concern is the red zone. JT hasn’t looked sharp passing. Until he shows the form he has last season I’ll assume we may have to settle for some FG’s.

When the Nits Have the Ball:

This is the side of the ball that we need to win decisively. Last season we let the Nits move the ball in spurts. Not this season. The door gets shut.

Final Thinking:

Last season was a turning point as the team faced adversity and won. This season will be a turning point as we turn on the afterburners for the first time since game 1
