2002 had the apex superstar in Clarret and a lot of leaders like Wilhelm, Krenzel, Jenkins, Doss, Will Smith.
It had a lot of veteran talent that was really NFL caliber.
However I don’t think the cumulative athleticism of that team is anywhere near the 2019 team. Also no way is the two deep as loaded.
2014 had some apex superstars like Bosa, Elliot, and Mike Thomas.
Daron Lee, Michael Bennet, Decker, Devin Smith, Gareon Conley, Eli Apple, And Von Bell were also really good.
That team also started a lot of good non NFL players like Curtis Grant, Steve Miller, Evan Spencer, Jacoby Boren etc who were leaders...
But this 2019 squad is just scary good across the board.
Chase Young looks like a top 3 NFL draft pick.
Hamilton, Landers, Garret, Tuivola is the deepest ive ever seen at DT.
Friday, Jean Baptiste, Smith, and Harrison all look like future studs at D end.
We’re back at linebacker. They all look good this year. Bowen and Harrison could be 1st day draft picks. Terejada Mitchel is knocking on the door. Borland and Werner look so much better with a different scheme.
And the secondary is the crown jewel.
Okudah is too 5 draft pick material.
Arnette is playing like a late first rounder.
Wade is playing like a first rounder
Fuller could be a 2nd or 3rd rounder
Proctor is coming along and looking like a future star
QB-Fields could be the best to ever do it at Ohio state. At the very least he’s rapidly blowing by JT Barret and Cardale as a player.
We have two great running backs.
And we’re five deep at receiver with guys who can play. Victor, Hill, Olave, Austin Mack and Wilson are all front line guys right now.
And the oline may be the most talented that I’ve ever seen at Ohio state.
But most importantly we have coaches that are in synch. I think the sky is the limit and with Dylan Moses injured all year we have a shot at winning the national title.
