The quarterback battle is taking an interesting turn as it appears the coaching staff is much more comfortable with J.T. Barrett taking reps (albeit with no contact at all) and playing in 7 on 7 drills. Even though Jones is the primary QB, and will be until fall, Barrett throwing balls adds a bit of a wrinkle to what everyone expected after the injury against Michigan.
A lot of focus was placed on the 2,000 rep club as Urban Meyer called it Tuesday. Players like Darron Lee, Adolphus Washington, Joshua Perry and Joey Bosa were limited on defense while Taylor Decker and Pat Elflein were on offense. That doesn't mean they won't be getting the full brunt of things once the season rolls around, but for now it is clear Meyer is doing what he can to limit the players who are getting up there in terms of reps.
It seems that Raekwon is coming along nicely in his role as the starting middle linebacker for the Buckeyes so far this spring. Although I will have a piece on this later in the day (probably around 3 p.m.), the other players have taken nicely to him in the starting lineup, with both Lee and Perry referring to him as "the chosen one" at one point or another. Although the leadership of Curtis Grant could be tough to replace, it seems that McMillan is already on the right path.
