Most of you are familiar with five star 2017 wide receiver Trevon Grimes at this point and how elite of an athlete he is, but I wanted to provide a little more prospective on the Buckeye lean...

We've discussed here a few times how much Urban Meyer and his assistant coaches value track athletes in their football program, but particularly hurdlers.

While sprinters like Dontre Wilson and Devin Smith are extremely valuable, hurdlers provide a different level of explosion and athleticism than simply sprinting does.

Two of the most notable athletes in recent Ohio State history were hurdlers in high school in Ted Ginn Jr and Ezekiel Elliott. Both of them were multi-time state champions in track and field and in particular, the 300M hurdles.

As a high school senior, Ginn posted a personal record of 36.73. Ezekiel Elliott topped out at 37.52 in his junior year. We've seen how effective those guys were at blowing by top college competition.

Well Trevon Grimes is already a two-time Florida state champ in the hurdles before his junior season of track begins and he's posted a career best of 36.84, just a tenth of second behind Ginn.

The difference between the three? Ginn was 6-foot even and 170 pounds out of high school. Elliott was 6-foot and 198. Grimes was moving like that at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds at 16 years old. Special, special athlete
