Quiet evening for me... I am watching Narcos... again.. and just scouting and analyzing all of the NFL and most of the NCAA depth charts...
I just found out that Tyler Vrabel has basically added 50 pounds - of I am assuming primarily muscle - (being Mike’s son and all) in just the 1 year that he’s been at Boston College..
This kid was a 6-3 240 (maybe 6-3.5 245 pound) junior OG at St. Pius down here in Houston....(when Mike Vrabel was down here coaching the Texan’s Defense):
As a senior, he was still growing and up to 6-4 250-255 pounds.....
His best offers were from Boston College Cincinnati, Houston and Buffalo...
He took the BC offer. Redshirted last year and now he’s already their starting LT — and he’s listed at 6-5 and 310 pounds as a RS Freshman...
I have little to no to criticisms of our recruiting...
But I think Vrabel’s son should have been offered and part of our 2018 class... and I think we also made a mistake by not offering Lachey’s son at TE this year...
I think little Vrabel is well on his way to becoming a 6-6 320 pound beast of an NFL LT....and I think “little Luke Lachey” is the next great TE at Iowa..
They should have both been Buckeyes...IMHO.. Both are as close to “can’t miss prospects” as far as you can project.... and as far from my untrained eye can tell.
But “sometimes” I think it’s ok to just go ahead and bet on the genetics...
That is all... we shall see...
