Update: Oak Hill advanced yesterday (61-51 win over Huntington Prep) and will play #2 Montverde at noon on ESPN. Montverde has the #1 player in the country, Ben Simmons, and a good supporting cast. It's where Russell came out of last year. Giddens had 13 points and 9 boards. He's been very active this week/weekend but he's not much of an assertive player even though he is able to get good looks with relative ease due to the athleticism. Just my opinion.
#1 Oak Hill plays #6 Hungtington Prep at 5 PM on ESPN 2 in the Dick's Sporting Goods National Tournament, should be a really really good game.
Giddens plays for Oak Hill. He's really slimmed down and transformed his body this year. He's lost some weight since summer I'd say. While he didn't put up a huge stat line last night, he was very active and generally looked good out there. He took care of the ball and converted when he was playing. 4/5 from the floor for 8 points, had a pair of boards. Still not seeing a ton of offense but the upside is there for sure. We'll see what we get out of him tonight.
Dwayne Bacon is probably Oak Hill's best player. Going to Florida State and he can flat out score.
Prep is without Levi Cook who tore his ACL but still have a ton of firepower with Bridges, Thomas and Curtis.
