Here we go....
- Dwayne was fantastic yesterday. I'm not sure you could have asked for much more from a QB in his first start. Very confident and in control of the offense.
- This is the offensive scheme I've been waiting for years. It had a pro-style look and feel to it. I loved the two TE look from the pistol. I loved that we used our TE's in the RZ instead of going 4-5 wide and trying to improvise with the QB.
- Michael Jordan will be a finalist for the Rimington. Book it.
- There's a night and day difference with Mike Weber. His first year here, he was a grinder. He'd slash ahead for 4-5-6 yards. Now the guy has jets.
- Terry McLaurin is going to make himself a lot of money this season. He was excellent yesterday. Austin Mack and K.J. Hill were both good too. I'm a little disappointed that we didn't see more from Bin Victor or Paris Campbell.
- Bosa was certainly impressive but I was really impressed with Dre'Mont Jones yesterday. I could see him sneak into the first round this year.
- The linebackers looked rough. The staff doesn't know the correct personnel combo yet. You have to find a way to get Tuf Borland out there if he's healthy. The guy has a nose for the football. Pete Werner did as well as you'd expect from a young guy making his first start. Malik Harrison looked lost and out of position a lot yesterday.
- I actually thought the corners did well yesterday. Arnette and Sheffield looked solid. Okudah took his lumps yesterday.
- They need Jordan Fuller back....stat.
- Maryland-Texas....Credit Matt Canada. He did a nice job getting them the win. The jet sweep that led to a safety was dumb though. The Texas offense was garbage.
- Penn State-App State....I agree with VB on this. Scheduling these guys for week one is dumb. Penn State doesn't have the horses at WR/TE and it showed. Miles Sanders looked decent at RB.
- Michigan-ND....Where to start.....Patterson didn't look like the QB prodigy that the media has yammered about all off-season. I thought he looked average. The Michigan offense looks like zombie made up of parts from different offenses, none of which really worked. The offensive line looked bad. Harbaugh needs to stop with the distractions and the "I'm a misunderstood genius" schtick. I'll bet the AD puts the kibosh on anymore foreign trips going forward. ND will be a good football team this year. I thought their D played very well. Claypool is a heck of a WR.
- Alabama-Louisville....Alabama looked good. Real good. Tagovailoa just has great instincts. I'm not sure why anyone agrees to do a "neutral" site game with Alabama (aside from the money). Last night was essentially a home game for the Tide.
