I was still going to wait later into this week to welcome our new staff members but since the cat was let out of the bag long ago, here we go.
It should not come as a surprise to anyone that we now have obtained the exclusive services of one of the biggest names in the entire Ohio State market with NevadaBuck. I have known NB for many years in a professional sense and I have always admired his work at competing sites and looked forward to a chance of working with him one day if the situation ever allowed for it. His depth of knowledge in terms of the team, the relationships he fosters with sources and his dedication to Ohio State are not rivaled by anyone out there and he truly is an asset to this site. I could go on and on but it would sound like I was eulogizing him rather than welcoming him...
Kirk Barton is a name that should speak for itself as well as a former captain with the Buckeyes (2007, I believe) and an offensive QC assistant under Urban Meyer after that. Kirk looks like he could still put on the pads and get out there and push people around today. He will offer a great perspective as a former player and assistant under the current staff and will provide a lot of piece that will look back on his days at the WHAC. I also have some other ideas for future pieces but I would rather discuss them with him privately before springing anything on him here. He is also a great follow on Twitter as well, I highly recommend giving him a follow.
Now, I want to address something else. I know that this is a big change for a lot of our current members, we kind of sprung this on you all and in business that is how things work. We (the entire staff) are very happy to have our new staff members here. We are excited about having a lot of new members that have followed the pair over here to BuckeyeGrove.com as well. We want everyone to come together into one community smoothly and seamlessly as possible but we know too that is a big task. What we will not tolerate is blatant attacks and vilification of a quantity that people here may not be familiar with. Nevada and Kurt's presence is the new normal around here and we like that normal very much. Habitual offenders may need to either change their ways or look for some new stomping grounds. The decisions on these matters are mine, despite what some voices may be saying. I want everyone to enjoy what we have in store here for the future BuckeyeGrove.com, from the newest members to people that have been part of the site longer than I have.
