1. Awakened by phone calls at 6:15 - both boss and wife (who is at her sister’s in Cleveland) saying not to go downtown today. The overnight looting again hit Michigan Ave where my office is - this time shots fired at police a block from office.
2. Work from home all morning and early afternoon - therefore can participate in the bomb blast of threads here about reports that B1G season cancelled.
3. Rush out with car to bring teenage son walking the dog home before wave of violent storms blows through Chicago. Power at home gets knocked out - 80 mph winds, lightening and thunder enough to scare dog so she has “accident” in basement (will clean up when lights back on).
Phone nearly dead, so can’t follow news. What happens tonight? Waves of locusts from Africa arrive?
