Hola Buckeyes, my name is Dave Lackford and I live in Louisville, KY (unfortunately) and I write for numerous sites on Rivals, but this update comes from my function as an analyst for the kentuckypreps.com site.
As you may know, 2019 4-star athlete Wandale Robinson is on his official visit to Columbus right now, and has been since Friday night.
Matter of fact Friday night after his game right before he left I caught up with him and he said he is announcing his commitment on November 1st. I have also heard from a source very close to the situation that he is leaning toward Nebraska at the moment but UK is making it very hard on him. Friday night I also got the impression OSU was a distant third and would have to really pull some tricks out of their bag to land him.
Well a lot can happen in 40ish hours and we all know how quickly the worm can turn in this game. From what I’ve heard about 20 minutes ago, Wandale is receiving Ohio State’s message warmly. Their receivers have been very productive this year and they are making him well aware of that fact. Someone mentioned reciever production charts comparing Kentucky and Ohio State so far this season and let’s say it wasn’t close. The staff is telling him he will compete for the “H” in their offense. You guys remember Curtis Samuels of course and how he was drafted in the second round by Carolina, yes.
These are prilmanary reports and I haven’t spoken with him directly as he is still there, probably speaking to Urban Meyer as I type this.
It appears that Ohio State may very well be making a move, muddying the already murky waters further, just three weeks before he announces his decision. I’ll have more later.
Be excellent to each other, and party on dudes.
