What really puzzled me about the D calls yesterday is why we kept blitzing every time the Terps had an obvious pass situation. We repeatedly let them convert 3d and 5+ by failing to keep contain on their QB when he scrambled out of a blitz.
The thing is, we got decent pressure on him with a four-man rush pretty much all game. Moreover, other than the one coverage bust early in the game, their WRs couldn't get open at all, even against man coverage with blitzes. So why not just rush 4 and keep McMillan at home to spy the QB? Seemed obvious to the commentators (who I didn't think were so good) and to me, but I think Chris Ash knows a lot more than I do, so what am I missing?
