Not all people have what it takes to be a real Buckeye fan, just like not all people can be great team players and leaders. To be a true Buckeye fan you have to have a dog named Brutus, show dedication, grit and team spirit by always showing up and bringing your best game with you.

While not everyone makes a good Buckeye fan, all Buckeye fans make great franchisees. Be it the loyalty to their team, their tenacity and perseverance against adversity, Buckeye fans have exactly what it takes to blow the competition out of the water, and this is why.

They Are Passionate About the Sport and Their Team

There is no such thing as “a little bit fanatic” about a sport. As a Buckeye fan you are either all in or you are out. The best Buckeye fans are the most passionate, those that live and breathe Buckeye. They go to every single game, and if they can’t, they will make sure to be up at 3am to watch the game, because they will sure as hell not be missing a single moment.

You know a Buckeye fan because they have Rivals as their homepage, heck they have an account, are subscribed and even have the app on their phone. They will follow all the Rivals news, watch all the movies, and even play the sport themselves if they can. They want to read all about it, hear all about it and talk all about it because The Buckeyes are their life.

Passion is the most rare and powerful characteristic that all sport fans share with great franchisees. The most successful businessmen are those that keep up to date with the latest news and trends of their industry. They know all about who is who, what their competition is doing, what the authority is up to and most importantly, they know their own team so intimately, as if it were their own baby.

They Are Unapologetically Competitive

Of course, every Buckeye fan knows, sports would not be exciting without competition amongst fans as well. What is the point of spending months, if not years, building great rally chants? Why do Buckeye fans spend hours preparing their face in Gray and Scarlet, driving or even flying to another state to watch a game? Because it is important to show up for your team and to show the competition that you are stronger, louder, more dedicated, and more loyal. That you are, not just better, but the best fan group out there.

Competition is the name of the game when it comes to the franchises. You have to be fierce, keep working on your skills and keep your eye on the opponent, watching their moves and being one step ahead of them. The best franchisees are driven by the excitement of making themselves better and continuously proving this to the competition, time and time again.

They Want to Analyze Everything
Being passionate about the sport and your team is not only about showing up, it’s about dedicating your skills and wanting to be the expert with all the evidence and numbers. Real Buckeye fans will study the players, their names, their history, stats, everything. They will want to know all the numbers from the past to the present and, if they could, be the ones that “knew it” when it comes to the future.

You know a true fanatic, when they start talking to you about their Fantasy League team and their stats with utmost seriousness. Fantasy League is not a game and certainly not for the faint hearted. It requires attention to detail, statistical acumen and deep knowledge of the sport and current affairs in real life. It is the ultimate practicing tool for the Buckeye fan, while preparing for the real-life game.

If you are able to follow, understand and analyze such a huge amount of information, and put it into practice by building your own team, you are already the great leader any company would be looking for. Franchisees who understand numbers and possess strong attention to detail, are the most successful in the industry because they have a clear direction, based on real data and evidence. Whether it is a football team, a basketball team or a franchise, if you have the skills to read numbers and see what others do not, you are set up for success.

They Are Team Players

No Buckeye fan is ever without his friends (who are also Buckeyes), they are like an extension of his own family. When you enter a stadium and thousands of people are all chanting the same words, you are witness to true teamwork and camaraderie. Buckeye fans do not only support their favorite team, they support each other because they know they are stronger together.

You have never heard of a college football team made up of only Jarret Doege, nor have you seen a baseball stadium with only one chair. The exact same thing applies for a franchise business, it can only be successful if the leader is also a team player. To be successful as a franchisee, you have to know how to both lead your team but also how to read them and be part of them. You have to be reliable and let them know that you are willing to get your hands dirty, to chant with them and drive long distances to meet them where they are.

They Never Give Up

Have you ever seen a passionate Buckeye fan change the team they support? No, not even when the team is doing miserably bad throughout the whole season. This is because for them, it is not only about winning but about resilience and patience, it’s about fighting against adversity and pushing through no matter the ups and downs.

The best franchisees are those that have a thick skin, they have grit and perseverance. As with any business, things will not always be easy and will certainly not always be sunny, but a great franchise leader is loyal and dedicated to his team and there is no level of adversity he will not fight to overcome.

So, if you ever happen to meet a true Buckeye fan, take note and remember that you are looking at a leader, a passionate team player and a great franchisee in the making. And if you are yourself a Buckeye fan, what are you waiting for? You have exactly what it takes to be the next great businessman and build your own team to success, one touchdown at a time.

If you are interested in being your own boss. Give me a shout.
