Don’t understand why we can’t run a multiple defense based on the offensive personnel on the field at that particular time. If an offense is going to put a tight end on the field, which Oregon did a lot yesterday, then you need a third or boundary linebacker on the field. Oregon got 206 yards yesterday before anyone was touched. I know we switched to a 4-2-5 after being gashed by Alabama and Oregon took advantage of that. I would have been fine running a 4-3-4 yesterday and taking our chances. Anthony Brown is a good quarterback, but he is not going to beat you throwing downfield. I know we are a little short on experienced linebackers this year but maybe with Gaotote being eligible now, that will afford the defense to experiment with multiple linebacker looks. You got to be able to match the offensive personnel on the field. That is what killed us yesterday.
