Ohio State running backs coach Tony Alford was at Cleveland Heights on Friday to visit stand out 2017 wide receiver Jaylen Harris, who has really been picking up a ton of steam lately. Harris, in the past six weeks or so, has picked up offers from Michigan, Tennessee, and Iowa (already had Kentucky, of course) and has been getting a lot of love from Alabama (who also visited his school) and Ohio State.

He had planned on visiting Ohio State during this past weekend, but the trip ended up being cancelled due to some logistical complications. Alford has been in regular contact, and Zach Smith has been paying more attention every week as well, and this is a kid they really like right now.

I will have a full update with Harris tomorrow during the day, but he is planning a June visit date right now and the tentative date is June 16th.

As incredible of a prospect as Javonte Richardson is, Harris might be right there with him. He's a true 6-foot-5, and while he needs to be able to dip his hips on his routes and maintain speed through his breaks, he's a very fluid athlete in space that just needs time to pick up on the nuances of being a wide receiver. Harris is relatively new to the game and only played a half dozen games this year. He's a basketball kid who came to the gridiron and really excelled immediately.

Look for him to be a real contender for early four star - and possibly Rivals100 - status once we bring out the full 2017 rankings.
